Great place to catch up with a friend!!
I came on a Sunday night at 7pm, and there were so many people waiting at the front--would recommend making a reservation if you want to be seated quickly.
Food: Yum! Based on other reviews, I'd recommend skipping the standard Thai and Vietnamese cuisine if you're here for dinner and go for something different. That means don't get the pad thai as much as you want to!! Instead, I went for the Clay Pot Catfish ($18). It was delicious, a perfect crispiness and sweetness! The bok choy was a great choice to pair it with, and I felt so healthy. The portion filled me up, but might be a little small for a bigger appetite just fyi.
Ambience: Loved it. Not too loud that I didn't have to scream to catch up with my friend. Lights are dimmed during dinner for that mood lighting so maybe a good date spot too. The lanterns and the ceiling decorations make for magical illumination.
Would come back. And would order that catfish again, I still think about it. I might also try the michelin recommended entrees as well. -

What a nice little place! They do take reservations but if you are more than 15 minutes late, they will give your table away even if you call ahead to let them know.
We came exactly 15 minutes late (oops) were seated right away. Our server was attentive and the food came fast, which is great because we had somewhere to be not long after. My cocktail was delicious and so was my meal- it was the perfect amount of food, the duck was cooked perfectly and the sauce had just the right amount of kick.
It was reasonably priced as well. -

The decoration was beautiful. It feels like you entered a whole new world. But it's so busy, we can barely squeeze in the door and the wait was long. We came twice but gave up the first time. the second time we decided to stay because it was later the night and the wait wasn't too bad.
When we were seated, we were so close to the table next to us and felt so uncomfortable having to listen to other people's conversations or having ours being heard. We were talking about anything inappropriate but it felt like our personal space has been invaded. Additionally, the works there was rushing us to order and different people came to our table multiple times to ask us how was our food and if we need to order drinks as they don't have a mutual understanding of who's serving which table. We appreciate the attentiveness but it was a little too much.
The food tasted amazing. The sparerib on sugar cane was great and you can even taste the flame ( not spicy but the charcoal taste ). That being said, there's not a lot of meat on there and getting charged for $10 is a little bit of a rip off. We ordered two other dishes, pad see eww and some meat and rice dish but it doesn't top the spareribs. -

Good thai food.My favorites here are the pork banh mi and chicken cashew.
Good selection of drinks.
I like the hot air balloons inspired ambiance.
Service could be improved. -

The pho bo and the bun here is terrific. The broth of the pho is a milky yet clean broth that does not cheat its way to good flavor. I just wish the pho came with Sriracha or hoisin. The sauce that comes with the bun is perfectly balanced. The beef and sugar cane appetizer was also really inventive and delicious. Four stars.
The Chinese broccoli was undercooked and much too fibrous to chew in some parts. One star.
The service here was a bit off. Maybe it's because this restaurant is near times square. Two stars.
The price point is pretty steep for the portion sizes as well. Two stars for value.
